This light comes in a nice brown box and has a manual. I really enjoyed this light how it's super small when it's collapsed and takes up no room once so ever. When you expand it the light has a mesh screen which i thought was a super neat feature. But before jumping into that lets back it up. To insert the batteries unscrew the bottom cap and put in 3 AA batteries and then replace bottom piece back on. On the orange piece near the bottom cap you put back on is a on and off switch.
When it's collapsed you can use it as a flash light. It has a really bright led light that has three settings push once and you get a solid light. Push twice you get a brighter light and push it one more time you get a blinking light. Push one more time to turn it off. If you twist it near the orange base it will pop open and you will now see the mesh screen. On the bottom of this base is a orange hook you can hang this lantern too if you wanted to. With it being on the mesh lights up like a light. To collapse it is kind of tricky at first but make sure you light it up and it will go back to being a flat circle shape. I really love this light. I see us using this light a lot the blinking light will help with bugs because that is what we do now with our one light we have.
