Once it got here it was packaged very well. It measures almost 14' high by almost 4 inch wide. It has a super long 8 foot inch cord. To turn this on and off is super easy. Just plug it into a regular wall plug. Then near the light there is a little switch button you can press to turn it on and off. When off you can see that it's white with like a silver/ white mesh. This is made very well. The bottom has screws to hold the light bulb inside. Once you flip the switch to turn it on it gives off quite a bit of light i was super surprised. Wasn't expecting it to give that much. When on it has a soft warm glow. The base of this light is like a wood/plastic material. I think it will hold up very well.
