This comes in a hard plastic but i took it out. Right away i put it in the sink that i filled with water to make sure there was no leaks inside it. Which i was glad to see none. To open you just simply slide the locks to open it. Once you get those open you open it and slide your phone in. She was so tickled that she could still use her phone. The pouch has a clear screen that still reads your finger when you swipe your phone. Make sure you close it and lock it close. It does come with a lanyard to hang around your neck. I think everyone who loves the beach or even if you go on a boat or heck even fishing. Should have your phone in one of theses. It protects it from getting wet and dirt.
